In March 2010 we are going to Flims/Laax, Switzerland . This is a new area for us & we are really excited about skiing all that it has to offer. We haven't confirmed a hotel but, we are looking at the Hotel Sunstar which is in Flims.

With Flims at 1100m and the highest point the skiable Vorab glacier at 3018m the Flims/Laax area offers loads of piste & off piste oportunities.

Flims/Laax offers a tremendous variety of slopes, with a chance to enjoy first rate on piste skiing and boarding for all levels. Experts can seek the challenging runs from Vorab (Glacier), Cassons-Grat or the east slope of Crap Sogn Gion; intermediates and beginners will enjoy exhilarating descents over a variety of wide open slopes and bowls. The ski area is well interconnected and served by a vast network of lifts and gondolas, assuring fast access to the 136 miles of slopes and minimal waiting time. Out of bound skiing is extensive and easily accessible from marked trails.

Flims has been a spa resort since the 1880’s. In 1962 the glacier above Flims and its neighbouring Laax was first developed for skiing. Together with the picturesque farming village of Laax they form what is now called Laax, one of the largest ski circuits in the Alps.The Alpenarena still retains an “old world” atmosphere of unhurried life, quaint inns, restaurants, cafes and charming boutiques. Transport to the ski lifts is by resort shuttle bus which is an efficient system included in the cost of the ski-pass.
